Hip & Thigh

Hip Pointer

Also called: Bruised hip bone from a fall or hit

A direct blow or hard fall onto the point of the hip — the iliac crest, the shelf of bone at your beltline — crushing muscle and soft tissue against bone. The signature injury of a hard landing on turf, ice, or hardwood. Wildly painful for something 'just bruised' (that crest is where core muscles anchor, so laughing, coughing, and twisting all pull on it), but it heals fully with staged care.
