Meralgia Paresthetica

Also called: Burning thigh syndrome

Numbness, burning, or tingling on the outer thigh from compression of a purely sensory nerve (lateral femoral cutaneous) as it passes near the front hip crest. Classic culprits: tight waistbands, duty belts, pregnancy, recent weight change, or prolonged hip flexion. No weakness — it's sensory only.
