Cervical Spinal Stenosis

Also called: Narrowing of the spinal canal in the neck

Narrowing of the central canal (where the spinal cord runs) or the side canals (where nerve roots exit), usually from disc bulging plus arthritic changes. Central stenosis deserves respect because the spinal cord itself can be affected — watch for coordination and gait changes, not just pain.
