Bone Stress Injury / Stress Fracture

Also called: Overuse fracture (tibia, metatarsals, and others)

Bone failing to keep up with repetitive load — a spectrum from stress reaction to true fracture crack, most often in the shin and forefoot of runners and jumpers. This diagnosis is about biology as much as mechanics: bones need adequate fuel, calcium, vitamin D, and hormones to remodel under training.
